Burrakatha is a very famous narrative folk art form of Andhra Pradesh. This form was most extensively used creative medium in olden days. Burrakatha is a folk dance form where it combines all significant aspects of ballad types of Andhra Pradesh and presents itself as a recreated model. It derived its name from "Burra' the instrument used during the narration.

The team consists of three narrators, usually dressed in colourful clothes. The main narrator co-ordinates with narration, description, explanation etc. while the assistants provides rhythm with a small drums and chorus.
